Liverpool will hold firm and reject any further offers for striker Danny Ings before the deadline on Wednesday, according to reports from the Liverpool Echo.

Sunderland are the latest club to see an offer for the former Burnley man snubbed after the Reds had rejected a reported eight offers for their man this summer.

The 24-year-old, who made the move to Anfield last summer after an impressive debut season in the Premier League, suffered a cruciate ligament injury which forced him to miss the majority of last season.

His injury means that manager Jurgen Klopp has not had the chance to properly utilise the former Bournemouth striker, and as per the Echo’s reports considers him an important part of his plans on Merseyside.

The striker managed just nine appearances for the North West outfit last season, scoring on three occasions, however in his previous season at Turf Moor he netted 11 in 35 Premier League outings.

On the back of that form, Roy Hodgson saw fit to hand the Winchester born forward his international debut against Lithuania in a Euro 2016 Qualifier, which remains his only England cap to date.

One response to “Liverpool hold firm as Premier League rivals chase striker”

Danny Ings is a hard worker and very good player with an eye for goal. He is a player designed for Jurgen Klopp’s all action style of football. No wonder other Premier league teams are trying so hard to sign him. I would be very surprised if the manager lets him go – even for £25m! He is being nursed back to full fitness and I look forward to seeing him back in action. PLUS he is no trouble and will play however the manager requests!
