Liverpool have been reportedly linked with a possible £11.1m deal to sign Brazil international striker Alexandre Pato this month.

The Premier League side, who visit League Two outfit Exeter City in the FA Cup tonight, have been long-term admirers of the Corinthians hitman.

The 26-year-old, who has 28 international caps for his country, has netted an impressive 38 goals over the course of his two-season spell with Brazilian top-flight club Sao Paulo.

Pato, who also scored 63 goals in 150 appearances for Serie A giants AC Milan between 2007 and 2012, is wanted by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to help fire Liverpool towards the Premier League’s top four during the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign.

English top-flight rivals Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United were also linked with moves for the Brazilian during the summer transfer window.
