Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer £10m this summer in a bid to land Brazilian ace Fernando, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who currently sit eighth in the English top-flight and face rivals Manchester United in the Europa League last-16 second-leg on Thursday night, are interested in signing the Manchester City midfielder at the end of the current campaign.

The 28-year-old; who surprisingly has never represented his country at senior international level, has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens so far this season, but has failed to chip in with any goals or assists.

Fernando, who arrived at the Etihad Stadium from FC Porto back in June 2014 in a deal worth around £12m, is also said to be interesting his former club from Portugal this summer.

The report suggests the central midfielder will be available upon the arrival of new City boss Pep Guardiola later this year, who will take over proceedings from current manager Manuel Pellegrini, with the former FC Barcelona coach happy to let Fernando leave the club.
