Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge of Liverpool was met by optimism from many Reds fans, and they’ve been proven right based on the first few months of the season.

Klopp’s side are top of the Premier League after winning eight of their opening 11 matches, with the 2-0 defeat at Burnley back in August the only blemish on a stunning start to the campaign.

Impressive victories over Arsenal and Chelsea have demonstrated their title credentials and, with the amount of goals they’re scoring at the moment, it’s difficult to see anyone stopping them.

The Reds, without European commitments this season, are also through to the last eight of the League Cup, and they’ll fancy their chances of progressing to the semi-finals when they host Championship side Leeds in a fortnight’s time.

Nonetheless, the international break interrupted the domestic season this fortnight, and several Liverpool players were called up to their national teams for World Cup qualifiers and/or friendly matches, but who performed the best?

Here are THREE Liverpool players who starred for their country this fortnight…
