Manchester City are reportedly ready to beat Manchester United and Liverpool to the signing of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski by launching a £60 million bid, according to the Sunday Express.

Incoming Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is looking for a striker to partner Sergio Aguero up front next season, and is a huge fan of the attacker, with whom he is currently working alongside at the Allianz Arena.

The Poland international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and although United and Liverpool – managed by Jurgen Klopp, who worked with Lewandowski during the duo’s time at Borussia Dortmund – are also interested, City are ready to outbid their Premier League rivals this summer.

The 27-year-old has been a prolific goalscorer throughtout his career and has shown that he can do it at the top level with the Bundesliga champions over the course of the last two years, scoring 61 goals in 88 appearances in all competitions.
