Man United favourites to sign prolific £15m striker

Manchester United are reportedly the new favourites to sign £15m-rated Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.

The England international has been linked with a move back to the Premier League all summer following relegation to the Championship with the R’s, with Newcastle and West Ham among the clubs linked.

However, with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal keen to bring in some competition for Wayne Rooney before the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening, he could now turn his attentions to the 26-year-old.

Austin scored 18 goals in his debut season in the top flight for Rangers but his strikes were unable to save his side from going down.
