Manchester United are reportedly keen on sealing the £10m signing of Japan international Yoshinori Muto in January.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who face defending champions Chelsea this evening, have been scouting the FSV Mainz centre forward for the majority of this campaign.

The 23-year-old, who has 18 international caps for his country, has scored seven and assisted four goals in 17 league appearances for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

With uncertainty surrounding the future of Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford this New Year, the Dutchman wants a new prolific forward to help United revive their hopes of a late title bid after falling nine points behind leaders Leicester City in sixth spot.

The only problem l have with Van Gaal is that he sold Chicharito and Rafael in the process of his rebuilding Man U. Now we lack a right full back and a clinical finisher in the team. Though l am of the opinion that he shouldn’t be sacked, his current problem is as a result of injuries to some key players, coupled with the three match ban on Schweinstiger. He should be allowed to complete this season and see how everything pans out.
Morinho is not Man U kind of coach, we should go for a a coach who would work with the experience and the up coming young players.
For today’s match against Chelsea, l know that Man U’ll beat Chelsea and that will boost the coach and players’ confidence, thus putting them in a better position to challenge for the premier league title.
