Manchester United and Chelsea submit offers for 31-year-old Marseille and France international

Manchester United and Chelsea have both reportedly submitted offers for France international star Lassana Diarra, according to BeIN Sports (via Get French Football News).

The Premier League duo; who finished fifth and tenth in the English top-flight standings respectively last term, have both been heavily linked with summers moves to lure the Marseille defensive midfielder back to the division ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.

The 31-year-old, who has 31 international caps for his country, but missed out on France’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 due to injury, scored one goal and provided one assist in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.

Diarra, who still has three years remaining on his current deal at the Stade Velodrome, is wanted by both the Red Devils and Blues after an impressive 2015/16 campaign following his switch from Lokomotiv Moscow last year.

The defensive midfielder has already enjoyed stints in the Premier League with Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth.
