Manchester United are reportedly ready to splash out a world record £100m in order to re-sign France international star Paul Pogba this summer, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

The Premier League giants; who lifted the 2016 FA Cup under former boss Louis van Gaal, but could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings last term, have been heavily linked with a move for the highly-rated Juventus midfielder.

The 23-year-old, who is currently with the France national squad as they prepare to face Germany on Thursday night in the semi-finals of EURO 2016 in his homeland, scored 10 goals and provided 16 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A champions last season.

Pogba, who left Old Trafford back in 2012 after rejecting a new deal, could be offered a whopping a long-term contract worth £300,000-a-week from new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.

The report suggests that United have begun talks over a sensational £100m package for the Frenchman’s services with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, who is a familiar face behind the scenes at the Premier League outfit having overseen the recently confirmed transfers of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Mkhitaryan.
