Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise summer move for Serbia international Nemanja Matic, according to gianlucadimarzio.com.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who defeated Crystal Palace in the 2016 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium last month, but could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings, could be tempted into trying to lure the Chelsea midfielder to Old Trafford before the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

The 27-year-old; who has 28 international caps for his country, who were unable to qualify for this month’s EURO 2016 finals, scored two goals and provided three assists in 43 appearances in all competitions for the Blues this season.

Matic, who re-signed for Chelsea from Benfica in a deal worth around £21m back in January 2014, is wanted by new United boss Jose Mourinho ahead of his first term in charge of the club.

The report suggests that the central midfielder would jump at the chance of a possible reunion with the ‘Special One’ at Old Trafford.
