Manchester United could be tempted into offering Juan Mata this summer in a bid to try and land Portugal international Andre Gomes, according to Deporte Valenciano (via the Express).

The 13-time Premier League champions, who defeated Crystal Palace in the 2016 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium last month, but could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings this term, have been continually linked with a future move for the Valencia midfielder.

The 22-year-old, who has 14 international caps for his country and is included in Portugal’s squad for EURO 2016 later this month, scored four goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit this season.

Meanwhile Mata; 28, who has been excluded from Spain’s EURO 2016 squad, netted ten times in 54 games for the Red Devils this campaign, including 11 assists.

However the reports suggest that United could land their transfer target if they offer the Spaniard’s services as part of a potential £50m overall deal.
