Manchester United have reportedly made a move to sign Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, according to the Daily Star.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is keen to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, and had been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez.

However, Atletico boss Diego Simeone doesn’t want to lose one of his stars with his side currently leading the La Liga standings, meaning United have now turned their attentions to the Valencia playmaker.

They could face competition for the signature of the Portugal international though, with Napoli and Juventus also said to be interested in the 22-year-old.

LVG is a destroyer. He’s arrival is to kill utd. Why can he resigned and leave utd now. We are playing badly even Moyes reign is far better than this. LVG leave us alone. U can’t sign a single player in January and the team is having problems.
