Manchester United are reportedly set to try and lure Brazil international Fabinho to Old Trafford this summer, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The Premier League side, who lifted the 2016 FA Cup trophy after defeating Crystal Palace back in May under former boss Louis van Gaal, have been linked with a move for the highly-rated AS Monaco full-back ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.

The 22-year-old, who has four international caps for his country, scored eight goals and provided five assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.

Fabinho, who was loaned to La Liga giants Real Madrid back in 2013 from Rio Ave, is wanted by new Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho to strengthen his team’s defensive ranks ahead of his debut term in charge of the 13-time Premier League champions.

The report suggests that United could look to win the signature of the Brazilian defender for around £22m, with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, also representing boss Mourinho.
