Manchester United have reportedly made an offer of £35.2m for Portugal international Andre Gomes, according to Alfredo Pedulla (via the Metro).

The 13-time Premier League champions, who could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings this term, despite winning the 2016 FA Cup final under former boss Louis van Gaal at Wembley Stadium last month, have been continually linked with a summer swoop for the Valencia midfielder.

The 22-year-old, who has 14 international caps for his country and has been included in Portugal’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 which kicks-off next week, scored four goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit this season.

Gomes, who is also attracting interest from Serie A champions Juventus, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford as new United boss Jose Mourinho is thought to be a huge admirer of the Portuguese ace.

It is understood that the ‘Special One’s’ representative; Jorge Mendes, who is also the player’s agent, will help push through a deal.
