Manchester United are reportedly lining up a swoop for £25 million-rated Monaco full-back Fabinho, according to the Daily Mail.

It is understood that Jose Mourinho is looking to put the final touches to a Red Devils squad that he will be hoping can challenge for the Premier League title next term, and has identified the 22-year-old right-back as a potential target.

The Portuguese manager is looking to provide competition for Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian on the right-hand side of the defence, and sees the Brazil international, who saw a £12 million move to Napoli fall through earlier this month, as the long-term solution in that position.

The 6ft 2in defender, who made 47 appearances in all competitions for Monaco last term, scoring eight goals and picking up five assists, would become United’s fourth signing of the summer if he were to join, following in the footsteps of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly  and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
