Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Colombia international star James Rodriguez for £60m this summer, according to the Daily Star on Sunday.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who host AFC Bournemouth on Sunday at Old Trafford, needing a victory to have any chance of finishing in the English top-flight’s top four places, have been continuously linked with moves for the Real Madrid forward throughout previous transfer windows.

The 24-year-old, who has 42 international caps for his country and starred for Colombia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has scored eight goals and provided a further 10 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants.

Rodriguez, who made a £63m switch to the Bernabeu from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco back in 2014, could reportedly break the British transfer record as news speculates that the Red Devils can sign the attacking midfielder for £60m this summer.

However the report also suggests that rivals Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus could still be interested in landing Rodriguez’s services as well.
