Manchester United are ready to splash out up to £60m on Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Mirror.
The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit fifth in the standings following their 2-1 defeat at Sunderland on Saturday, are ready to break the bank in order to sign Borussia Dortmund’s star striker this summer.
The 26-year-old, who has 47 international caps for his country, has scored a remarkable 30 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.
The report suggests that the Red Devils’ executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has identified the in-form forward as the club’s number one transfer target once the 2015-16 campaign has concluded.
In addition to willing to pay in excess of £60m for his services, Louis van Gaal’s side would also be able to offer Aubameyang a whopping £200,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
The Gabon star has scored an impressive 71 goals in just 125 first-team appearances for Dortmund since arriving from French side Saint-Etienne back in July 2013.
