Manchester United are reportedly set to reignite their interest in Germany international Toni Kroos this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 13-time Premier League champions; who play West Brom on Sunday afternoon, were linked with a move for Real Madrid’s midfielder during David Moyes’ reign at Old Trafford, before new manager Louis van Gaal decided to move onto alternative targets.
The 26-year-old; who has 62 international caps for the defending World Cup winners (2014), has scored just one goal, but provided nine assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for Zinedine Zidane’s La Liga giants so far this season.
Kroos, who arrived at the Bernabeu from Bayern Munich back in the summer of 2014 in a deal worth up to €30m, has emerged top of United’s transfer targets once the 2015-16 campaign has concluded this May.
The report suggests that the midfielder is unsettled at Madrid, especially with manager Zidane planning a major player overhaul at the club this summer, with the German tipped to be one of the stars pushed out of the exit door.
