Manchester United will turn their attention to Norwich City teenager Max Aarons if they fail to sign Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports.

United had a £40million bid for Wan-Bissaka rejected last week and are reportedly preparing a second bid for the England Under-21 international.

Should the Red Devils not meet Palace’s £60million valuation of the 21-year-old, it is claimed that they will then make a move for 19-year-old Aarons.

The former Luton Town man was a key member of Norwich’s Championship title-winning squad and was named the EFL Young Player of the Season and in the Championship team of the year.

Wan-Bissaka has hardly put a foot wrong since breaking into Palace’s first-team.

Having signed a new four-year deal last October, the Canaries are under no immediate pressure to sell Aarons but sporting director Stuart Webber has warned that every player has a price.

Making his league debut in the East Anglian Derby last September, Aarons went on to play 40 more times for Daniel Farke’s side last term – chipping in with two goals and six assists.

A promising start to the season saw him called up to the England Under-19 side for the first time in September 2018.

United are looking to strengthen their right-back position following the departure of Antonio Valencia and considering the uncertain future of Matteo Darmian.
