Manchester United have decided against re-signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The 38-year-old is currently with MLS side LA Galaxy, where he has scored 53 times in 58 matches since joining from the Red Devils in 2018.

The exits of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan in the summer left United with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood as the only three strikers.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lack of an experienced centre-forward saw the club linked with a move to bring back the Swedish superstar at the turn of the year.

Solskjaer will not try to re-sign Ibrahimovic in January.

However, Sky Sports report that United will not offer a deal to their former number 9 an offer to return.

The prolific goal-getter joined the Premier League giants in July 2017 and scored 28 times to help win the League Cup and Europa League in his first campaign.

However, after suffering a serious knee injury in April 2017, he only played a further seven matches before leaving for LA in March 2018.

Sweden’s record scorer with 62 international goals, Ibrahimovic has also played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in his illustrious career.
