Manchester United’s managerial uncertainty is reportedly affecting their £10million bid for West Ham United starlet Reece Oxford, according to the Mirror.

Despite winning the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on Saturday, stories emerged in the evening that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is set to replace Louis van Gaal as manager this week, but the confusion over who will be in charge next term has delayed their prospective bid for the 17-year-old defender.

It was understood that the Red Devils wanted to lodge their £10million offer for the centre-back as soon as the Premier League season finished, but no contact has been made with the Hammers so far.

Oxford, who has been offered a new deal by the Irons after a successful debut campaign in the top flight, wants his future sorted out before he links up with the England Under-19 squad next week, and has also been linked with a move to Manchester City.
