Neil should give these 3 Norwich players a chance against Newcastle

Defender Ivo Pinto was replaced after just 58 minutes against Nottingham Forest on Saturday due to a knee problem, so he’s a doubt for Wednesday’s clash with Newcastle.

Thus, 32-year-old Steven Whittaker could take his place on Wednesday, just like he did on Saturday for the final 32 minutes of their 5-1 success over Gary Brazil’s struggling side.

Scottish international Whittaker, who has 31 caps for his country, has started just two Championship matches this season and come on as a substitute in only four others, with his cameo role on Saturday his first league minutes since January 14, where they lost 2-1 at Rotherham.

Since then, and as for much of the campaign, Whittaker has had to play second fiddle to Pinto, yet the latter’s injury could open the door for the 32-year-old to stake a claim for a regular first team spot.
