Newcastle United are considering bringing Andy Carroll back to the club, according to reports.
The 30-year-old is a free agent after his contract at West Ham United expired this summer.
And the Chronicle report that new Magpies boss Steve Bruce is interested in handing the centre-forward a Premier League lifeline.
Bruce is eyeing a striker signing.

However, the former England international is currently recovering from an ankle operation following the latest in a long line of injuries which has restricted the player to just 118 appearances in all competitions over the past six seasons.
It’s claimed that Bruce, who was named as Rafa Benitez’s replacement earlier this month, is keeping an eye on Carroll’s progress as he currently trains with a personal fitness consultant.
The Gateshead born striker scored 33 times in 91 matches for the Toon Army before leaving for Liverpool in a deal worth £35million.
