Norwich City have been dealt a blow in their search for a new striker after Wolves boss Kenny Jackett said Benik Afobe is not for sale.
After missing out on a loan deal for Roma forward Mattia Destro, Alex Neil turned his attention to Afobe, who scored 31 goals in all competitions last season.
However, following last night’s 3-2 home defeat to QPR, in which the number 10 struck, Jackett said: “They have (made a bid) and it has been turned down and not encouraged whatsoever.”
“We’re not looking to sell our best players and within two weeks of the window closing we’re looking to build.
“We don’t encourage future bids. We’re not looking to sell our best players.
“At the moment we’re not interested, we don’t want to negotiate, it was turned down flat.”
The 22-year-old is one of the most highly rated players outside of the top flight and has started this season well, netting three times in four games.
