Pep Guardiola must axe these 3 Man City players in January

Fabian Delph’s move to Manchester City last summer was met by a few raised eyebrows from a number of football fans, even more so given that a few days earlier, he said he would remain Aston Villa captain for the upcoming season.

Although he’s had a few decent runs in the side, he’s never been able to nail down a regular first team place, sometimes because of injury, but mainly because of the immense quality City have in the midfield area.

Delph is a good player, and has shown that on occasion at City, but he’s not going to seriously develop if he’s not playing week in, week out.

And, at City, that just isn’t going to happen.

He may feel that he’s learnt a lot since Guardiola’s arrival, but it’s difficult to know whether he can implement that education when he’s not playing. It’s time to move on.
