Pochettino should give these 3 Tottenham players a chance against Man City

Jan Vertonghen’s injury will free up a position in the heart of the Tottenham defence on Saturday, and it’s a position that could be filled by Kevin Wimmer.

The 24-year-old has struggled for game time at White Hart Lane this season given the good form of Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, and Eric Dier, but Pochettino may need the Austrian international at the Etihad Stadium if he’s to play three at the back again.

The success Spurs have had in recent weeks suggests that he will and, if so, Wimmer could be the man to come in, given he did against Arsenal back in November, and indeed against Chelsea a few weeks after that.

Although he struggled a bit in those games, Wimmer clearly knows the system and what is needed for it to work, so he’s clearly the obvious choice to fill in for Vertonghen.
