Premier League Team of the Week: Matchweek 3

MF: John McGinn

Villa missed John McGinn when he was out injured this season and in his performance at Fulham it’s clear to see why. The Scot looks back to his explosive best and was everywhere at Craven Cottage. As well as doing the work off the ball, the 25-year-old registered two assists to help Dean Smith’s side to two wins from two matches.

MF: Tomas Soucek

Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek is looking like a real good buy for West Ham. The 6ft 4in 24-year-old was really impressive in the Hammers’ 4-0 win against Wolves whose defence couldn’t cope with his aerial power and runs into the box. Made the third of four when his flicked near post header was diverted home by Raul Jimenez for an own goal.

MF: Bruno Fernandes

It was far from an impressive Manchester United display in the last gasp 3-2 win at Brighton & Hove Albion and, despite some misplaced passes, Bruno Fernandes has had better games. However, his determination and willingness to run and create in the middle of the park played a key part in grabbing the Red Devils what was an undeserved three points. Put in a great cross which led to his side’s opener before setting up Marcus Rashford and cooly converting the 90+10th minute winning penalty.
