Premier League Team of the Week: Matchweek 3

DF: Jan Bednarek

The 24-year-old defender put in a real solid display as he helped Saints secure their first win and clean sheet of the season with a 1-0 win at Burnley. Bednarek dealt incredibly well with the physical threat of Chris Wood in a game where Danny Ings’ early goal was enough for all three points.

DF: Tyrone Mings

Both Mings and defensive partner Ezri Konsa were fantastic in Villa’s 3-0 win at Fulham but the captain’s goal means he edges it into our team. The 27-year-old led by example all evening at Craven Cottage, snuffing out any danger and taking his chance to kill the game in the second half by stabbing home the visitors’ third.

DF: Robin Koch

The German looked to be adapting to the Premier League in his first two matches but looked the real deal in Leeds’ win at Sheffield United. At Bramall Lane, Koch stood up well to the challenge, winning a lot of aerial balls and making some important clearances. Could prove to be a key player this term.

DF: Andrew Robertson

Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Arsenal was once again not the best defensive display by the champions but going forward they were once again unstoppable at times. A lot of that threat was once again provided by left-back Andrew Robertson. The Scot made a mistake for the Gunners’ opener but brushed that aside. As well as creating havoc down the wing, the 26-year-old also scored the Reds’ second with a well timed run and finish.
