The Spaniard topped off his normal steady display in the middle of the park with a rare goal in Saints’ 2-0 win over West Brom. Romeu had only scored 5 goals in his previous 193 matches for Southampton but added a sixth with a stunning strike to seal the victory in the second half.

The 29-year-old was class in possession, assisted Yerry Mina’s header and scored two goals himself to take his tally to three for the campaign.
