Premier League Team of the Week: Matchweek 4

DF: Serge Aurier

A player sometimes criticised for his defensive capabilities, Serge Aurier’s attacking play has never really been questioned. The Ivory Coast international was at it again at Old Trafford as he registered a goal and assist in Spurs’ 6-1 victory. Always a threat with his driving runs down the right, the 27-year-old picked out Son for the fourth before getting the fifth himself with a low strike on 51 minutes.

DF: Angelo Ogbonna

The first West Ham player making it into our Team of the Week is centre-back Angelo Ogbonna. Leicester had scored 12 goals in their first three matches but Ogbonna put in a solid display as the Hammers impressed at the King Power. Reading the game well and winning numerous aerial battles, the Italian helped to keep Golden Boot holder Jamie Vardy relatively quiet.

DF: Kurt Zouma

The first of two Chelsea defenders in this team but probably not so much for his defensive abilities as the Blues were barley troubled in the 4-0 win over Palace. Zouma did help his side to a clean sheet but also was a threat in the air at the other end, scoring a header from Ben Chilwell’s cross shortly after placing another just wide.

DF:  Ben Chilwell

Chilwell had a dream Premier League debut for Chelsea after a £50million summer move from Leicester City. The England left-back scored the Blues’ first and then set up Kurt Zouma for the second with a beautiful cross. Chilwell also helped his team to a first league clean sheet of the season in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.
