Two sides in mid-table obscurity meet at the Hawthorns on Saturday, with both having done enough to secure their top-flight status for another season.

West Brom are winless in three and saw a 1-0 lead wiped out at Manchester City last weekend; although they have already reached 40 points, Baggies fans will be hoping the season doesn’t tail off in the closing stages.

Manager Tony Pulis’ functional style has seen Albion have just four shots on target in their last four Premier League games, and the Baggies also have the oldest average age for their starting XI in the top-flight, but despite the lack of excitement, there is no denying that the Welshman knows how to keep a side up.

West Brom also have a very strong record against Watford; they are unbeaten in the last 15 matches between the sides and haven’t lost to the Hornets since 1995.

Watford haven’t won in six league games as their season continues to fade; however, much of their focus will now be on the FA Cup with a semi-final coming up against Crystal Palace next weekend.

No team has scored less league goals in 2016 than Watford, who have notched just seven times in the calendar year; Odion Ighalo’s goals have dried up, whilst Troy Deeney’s performances remain good, he is struggling in front of goal.

The Hornets have failed to keep a clean sheet on their last seven trips to the Hawthorns, but their defence has been strong on the road this season so far and they will fancy their chances of ending that record on Saturday afternoon.

Team News:

Striker Salomon Rondon has recovered from the back injury which forced him off prematurely at the Etihad, but wingers Alex Pritchard and Callum McManaman are doubts, whilst fellow midfielder James Morrison is definitely out for the home side.

For Watford; central midfielder Etienne Capoue has been declared fit after picking up an injury against Everton last week, but boss Flores has dropped hints that he could shuffle his pack with the FA Cup semi-final in mind.
