Blackpool finally won their first game since January to move off of the bottom of the League One table, picking up their first three points in 24 matches.

Brad Potts bundled the ball home after a goalmouth scramble as they beat Scunthorpe 1-0. The Tangerines had previously not won away from home since April 2014.

Nicky Ajose and Wes Thomas both scored on their debuts as Swindon beat Crewe 3-1 away from home, while Gillingham went top after a controversial strike from Jake Hessenthaler, which was deemed to have crossed the goal-line, gave them a 1-0 victory over Doncaster.

Wigan scored three goals in the last 10 minutes to come from 2-0 down to beat Chesterfield 3-2 at Proact Stadium. Dan Gardner’s brilliant strike from the edge of the area put the home side 1-0 up, before Leon Barnett scored an own goal. But it was Barnett who sparked the comeback after he drilled home from a corner before Craig Davies levelled the game and Jordy Hiwula grabbed a 90th minute winner.

Southend earned their first three points of the campaign after goals from Adam Barrett and Noel Hunt saw them overcome Peterborough 2-1. Marcus Maddison scored a late consolation for Posh, but the Shrimpers held onto a vital win, which ultimately cost boss Dave Robertson his job.

Meanwhile, Shrewsbury won on their travels, beating Barnsley 2-1 after a 93rd minute shot from Jordan Clarke gave the Shrews their first win of the season, whilst there were also away victories for Bradford, who dispatched Oldham 2-1, Coventry, who overcame Burton 2-1, and Bury, who narrowly won 1-0 to end Walsall’s winning streak.

Finally, Fleetwood and Rochdale drew 1-1, in what was the only draw in League One at the weekend.
