Sheffield Wednesday will reportedly have to cough up £3.5m if they want to bring back striker Gary Hooper to Hillsborough on a permanent deal this month.

The Championship side, who currently sit seventh in the standings following their 1-0 win over Fulham last weekend, are thought to be keen on bringing back the Norwich City forward to the Owls in January.

The 27-year-old, who cost the Canaries a reported £5m from Celtic back in July 2013, scored twice in ten league games for Carlos Carvalhal’s side during his loan spell between late-October and January.

Hooper, who has also made two substitute Premier League appearances under Norwich boss Alex Neil this term, is wanted back in Yorkshire on a permanent basis to help Wednesday’s bid for promotion come May.
