Player of the Month: Isobel Christiansen (Manchester City)

The 24-year-old had a superb September, netting four times in three September matches to give City a chance of still capturing their first WSL title heading into the final day of the season. The forward headed the winner against Sunderland, struck against Liverpool and hit a brace in the 6-1 thrashing of Bristol Academy. The former Everton player also scored on her senior England debut in the 8-0 victory over Estonia.

Manager of the Month: Nick Cushing (Manchester City)

Nick Cushing guided his Manchester City side to three wins from three in September, with wins over Bristol Academy, Liverpool and Sunderland. His side also struck nine goals over those games and conceded just once. These results mean they still have  a chance of winning the title going into Sunday’s match with Notts County, but are relying on Sunderland to do them a favour against current leaders Chelsea. Cushing has got his side playing free flowing football this season and has clearly got the best out of World Cup stars Toni Duggan, Steph Houghton and Lucy Bronze.
