Southampton are reportedly considering making a £10million bid for Anderlecht attacking midfielder Dennis Praet, according to the Daily Mail.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman’s assistant and brother, Erwin Koeman watched the 22-year-old face Genk on Thursday with the south coast outfit weighing up making a summer move for the Belgium international as they prepare for life in the Europa League group stages next term.

With doubts over the futures of Sadio Mane and Dusan Tadic, who have both been linked with moves away from St Mary’s in recent days, Koeman is keen to strengthen his attacking options in the close season, and Praet fits the bill as he can play on either wing, as well as behind the striker.

However, Premier League champions Leicester City and Everton have also watched the Anderlecht man, who has made 170 appearances for the Belgian side and is available for a cut-price fee because he has just one year left on his contract.

Give it a rest! There is no substance to these rumours, except I assume Praet’s agent desperately trying to drum up Premier League interest in his client. Just he tried last summer,i guess because Saints do not comment on transfer speculation.
Praet has had another distinctly underwhelming season in the Belgian league and he’s 23,clearly not good enough, though I’m sure some desperate newly promoted mugs will take the bait
