These 2 Arsenal stars must leave in January for their own good

Nacho Monreal appears to have usurped Kieran Gibbs in the left-back pecking order this season, and he doesn’t look like relinquishing his grip on that spot.

Although the Spanish international isn’t the quickest full-back or most talented, he works hard for the team and consistently defends well down the left-hand-side.

When he has had the odd off-day, Gibbs hasn’t always done enough to convince Wenger of his superior defensive abilities, and thus has been restricted to just two Premier League starts this season in comparison to Monreal’s 19.

Thus, the England international must be considering a move away from the Emirates in a bid to resurrect his career.

At 27 years of age, Gibbs should be entering his peak years and, if he still harbours ambitions of adding to his ten England caps, then he must move on this month.

He’d do a job at many a mid-table Premier League side, and a sustained run of first team action could be what he needs to get back to the heights of 2013 and 2014.
