These 2 Liverpool players must improve if they are to win the Premier League

Harsh possibly, but when Liverpool have needed Roberto Firmino to really step up in recent weeks, he hasn’t.

Yes he has scored five and laid on three assists this season, incidentally both of which are less than Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho, but the last four Premier League games has seen the Brazilian international struggle to make an impact in the final third.

It was noticeable against West Ham how much he is missing Coutinho’s influence, and Firmino has now gone four games without a goal or an assist.

It’s hardly a crisis, but when Liverpool have drawn two and lost one of those four games, those contributions become magnified.

In Coutinho’s absence, they need Firmino to step up and, as of yet, he hasn’t.
