Loris Karius has not had a great start to his Liverpool career.

Signed from Mainz in the summer, the 23-year-old was thrown straight in as the Reds’ number one, and did reasonably well in his first few games.

However, the busier he has become, the more errors he has made, and it has shown in the last few weeks that he’s not quite good enough yet to be dependable.

He fumbled Steve Cook’s shot at Bournemouth, which led to Nathan Ake’s winning goal, and he should have saved Dimitri Payet’s free-kick against West Ham on Sunday.

Questions have been asked but Klopp remains firm that he’s his number one, yet more costly errors will surely give the Liverpool boss something to think about.

Karius needs to improve over the coming weeks should he retain a starting berth.
