Wright’s eight-year stint at the top of Arsenal’s goal-scoring charts was ended in 2005 by one of the greatest strikers the Premier League has ever seen, Thierry Henry.

The Frenchman joined the Gunners in 1999 for £11 million and, although he failed to net in his first eight games and questions were asked about his ability in English football, he soon put any doubts to rest by embarking on a stellar eight years in North London.

Henry netted 228 times in 377 games for Arsenal, and was the club’s top-scorer for seven straight seasons from 1999/00 to 2005/06.

In that time, he helped the club win two Premier League titles, and was an integral part of the ‘Invincibles’ team that went 49 league games unbeaten between 2003 and 2004, including a full season undefeated in 2003/04.

An incredible striker who deservedly stands on top of this podium.
