Gilberto was signed by Juande Ramos back in January 2008 in a window that also saw Jonathan Woodgate, Alan Hutton, and Chris Gunter arrive at White Hart Lane.

And, out of all four of them, Gilberto fared the worst.

The former Brazilian international made an error on his debut in March 2008 against PSV Eindhoven and, although he netted his one and only goal for the club against West Ham that season, that error was a sign of things to come.

The left-back played only three times for Spurs in the 2008/09 campaign and, in his only two starts of the season, he was substituted at half time on both occasions.

That pretty much tells you how his time at Tottenham went, and he signed for Brazilian outfit Cruziero in 2009 after having his Spurs contract ended.
