These are the 3 worst January signings Tottenham ever made

Tottenham spent just over £3 million on Ricardo Rocha back in January 2007, and they’ll be glad that they didn’t pay any more for the defender given his poor spell at White Hart Lane.

The six-time Portuguese international was drafted in due to injury to captain Ledley King, and did solidly at times for the rest of the 2006/07 season, although was guilty for both of Arsenal’s goals in the Gunners’ League Cup victory over Spurs at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Rocha made just five appearances for the club in the 2007/08 campaign, before falling completely out of favour in the 2008/09 season, where he failed to play a single game for the club.

Unsurprisingly, Spurs cut their losses by selling the defender to Standard Liege in 2009, although he did return to England with Portsmouth a year later.
