Perhaps West Ham’s best January signing is Demba Ba. The Hammers signed the Senegalese forward for just £680,000 from Hoffenheim in January 2011.

Ba only stayed at West Ham until that summer, but he scored seven times in his 13 appearances at the club.

Despite finishing as their top goalscorer that season, Ba moved to Newcastle United on a free transfer following the Hammers’ relegation.

Ba may have only been at the London side for six months, but the striker is probably their best value for money January signing over the past 14 years.
