Although Marcos Alonso has done pretty well since his last-gasp move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, there are still a few question marks over whether he can be the wing-back Conte wants in his side.

One player they were heavily linked with back in October was Athletic Bilbao’s Oscar de Marcos, and he’s a player they should look at again in January.

The 27-year-old is hugely versatile and can play anywhere across the back or the midfield, but it’s likely that he’d provide another option in the wing-back areas, such is his great pace and crossing ability.

Chelsea have been so good in recent weeks that it seems impossible to want to change things up too much, but another wing-back option, especially given that de Marcos can also provide competition in other areas of the pitch, would not go amiss.
