This is the Arsenal XI that can catch Premier League leaders Chelsea

Shkodran Mustafi

German World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi moved to Arsenal last summer, and immediately set about forming a solid partnership with Laurent Koscielny in the heart of the Gunners backline.

The 24-year-old went 22 games unbeaten to kick off his Arsenal career to demonstrate his defensive capabilities and impact on the team, although he has since been a part of the side that suffered back-to-back league defeats to Watford and Chelsea.

Nonetheless, Mustafi has proven to be a good partner for Koscielny this term, and although he is vulnerable to pace and does have the odd unconvincing game, the German is clearly a very adept defender, and certainly has a bright future in the game.
