Man United had a summer window that dreams are made of. In his first few months at the helm in Manchester, Jose Mourinho has gone about his transfer dealings like a child on FIFA.

Whereas normally a manager will have to pick and choose from realistic targets, and scour the globe for that one canny deal, ‘The Special One’ has acted like a Man United manager should and has gone out into the market and cherry-picked the best.

Deals for Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan would have made the summer one to remember, but that was never enough for the Red Devils.

The former Chelsea manager, along with Ed Woodward, slaved over a deal to bring French international Paul Pogba, back to the club in what was the saga to end all sagas.

In finalising the 23-year-old’s homecoming the club broke the world transfer record, paying Juventus a whopping £89m, as well as another reported £16m going to the midfielder’s ‘super-agent’, Mino Raiola.

There could have been plenty more incomings at Old Trafford, which would have rounded-off one of the best transfer windows of all time, but what would that dream United XI look like? Well, take a look…
