This is the Tottenham XI that can catch Premier League leaders Chelsea

Toby Alderweireld was arguably the best defender in the Premier League last season, helping Tottenham to a best-ever finish and a goals-against tally of just 35.

And he’s continued his fine form into this campaign, starting 16 of their 24 league games, and helping them to nine clean sheets in that time.

Injury threatened to derail his season when he suffered a knee injury against West Brom in the back in October, and subsequently missed two months of the campaign, but has since returned in a similar vein to help Pochettino’s men to second in the table.

It goes without saying, but Spurs will need Alderweireld at his absolute best in a bid to reel Chelsea in by May.
