The only one of these formations that they have not lost in is the 4-5-1. With Jordan Ayew and Jonathan Kodjia away on international duty, the one man attack consisting of either Gabriel Agbonlahor or Ross McCormack as a lone striker is a system that manager Bruce should consider.

Tottenham may field a rotated side to give their fringe players some long awaited to game time.

If this is the case, Villa may be able to make the most of the opportunity and by using a successfully proven formation; they may be able to do just that.
