Brian Clough passes the ball back.

This duo may never have been separated had Ol’ Big Head’s managerial career at Nottingham Forest not come to an end in 1993.

Son Nigel spent nine years at the City Ground playing for Brian, and whilst the days of European Cup Glory were behind the club, he still picked up silverware under his dad with back-to-back League Cup wins in 1989 and 1990.

Nigel went on to emulate his father’s long-term dedication to a club as a manager with Burton, taking the Brewers into the Football League during an 11-year spell at the club.
