We’re taking into account his spell with Liverpool, who signed the striker from Atletico Madrid in 2007 for a club record transfer fee. On his day, ‘El Nino’ was arguably the best striker in the world and in his first season for the Reds he scored 33 goals in all competitions. He also became the quickest player in the club’s history to score 50 league goals. However, even after four unbelievable individual seasons for the Merseyside club, he didn’t win any trophies.

He was then sold to Chelsea for a then British-record £50 million. The Spaniard notched just 20 league goals in 110 games for the West London side before moving to AC Milan.
