Top 5: Arsenal v Spurs Premier League North London Derbies

1. Tottenham 4-5 Arsenal – 2004/05

Lauren scores from the spot in a sensational game.

Finally, we reach our number one.

Going into the game, Spurs had lost four successive matches while Arsenal were coming off their legendary ‘Invincibles’ season and were only two points off the leaders, Chelsea.

Noureddine Naybet and Thierry Henry netted in the first half, and early in the second, Lauren dispatched a penalty Noe Pamarot had conceded by bringing down Freddie Ljungberg.

Soon after, Patrick Vieira put the reigning champions two up, but Jermain Defoe brought it back for Tottenham only a minute later.

Ljungberg quickly gave the Gunners a two-goal cushion again, but Ledley King brought it back for Spurs once again.

Robert Pires scored with 10 minutes left to seemingly secure win for Arsenal, but Frederic Kanoute made the deficit only one with a few minutes to go.

Ultimately, the reigning champions would take home the points in what was the most entertaining North London derby in the Premier League era.
